Task 9- DigiPak pt 5

Powered by emaze

Task 6 magazine ad pt 5

What I have learnt
  • Use space to your advantage. If something is too busy then clear it out and simplify it. Remember, Less is more.
  • Have a bold background which contrast nicely against colour and shape of font.
  • Promote the album as much as possible.
  • Give reviews
  • Artist most important feature, Make that be what they see first of the written words.

Task 6 magazine ad pt 4

Task 6 magazine ad pt 3

I have decided that I want to use a rectangle shaped box to place the image of my magazine advert (148.5cm X 105cm.) This is the measurements of half of a typical A4 sheet of paper. This means my  magazine advert will take up half of the page in a magazine.

For this reason I have decided to do more research into magazine advert which resemble this size, to gain a clear objective of how they are presented with the stereotypical layout.

Task 9 Digi Pak pt 4

The DigiPak album art for Flume's album 'Skin' is very simplistic. Overall it gives off a very friendly and colour feel to it. On the cover it has very little to no text. We see 'Flume' in the top left hand corner and 'Skin' in the top right hand corner. This is shown is a block type sans-serif font. The demonstartes to the viewer that the titles of the artist and the album are not as important than the music. It also demonstated the artists want for the viewer to concentare on the design of the cover, this creativity could reprsents his music.

The colour scheme used within this album art is purple, violet, blue and pink. These calming colours tie in beautifully with the graphic design and completes the smoothness of the album overall. Throughout the album art works their is this continuous colour scheme. I think using the same colour scheme throughout is very effective way of making your product look professional. I think I will use this aspect within my work.

The tracklist is shown on the back cover of the DigiPak. This is a stereotypical convention of DigiPaks. As you can clearly see the colour scheme continues here pleasingly.  The soft gradient of the colour ombreing downwards really reflects the softness of the flower art work which is presented.
This is really reflective upon flume's music. Flume use alot of layering effects to create beats, builds and crescendo's. This is projected through the layering of flowers and nature and the natural beautiful element it has to it.

The back of the DigiPak also shows elements of extra information about record companies and a barcode.
