What I changed in magazine AD

I decided to go back and look at my magazine advert as something was bugging me, I wasn't 100% happy with the way it looked. I felt it almost look unprofessional an a little bit tacky. This is not the vibe I want to achieve at all.
  • I began by taking away the sparkles at the top, The looked good when I first put them in, But coming back to it, it just looks tacky.
  • The exposure used on the fairy light and makeup - I toned this down as I felt it was more of 'pop' convention. The genre of my album is electro dance. By toning it down, I think I was able to capture a more subtle yet modern look overall. The softer pink also ties in nicer with the colour scheme within the Digi Pak.
  • I moved around the 'FLUME SKIN 10/12/2017'. Something just wasn't quite right about it. I levelled them all out using the guide lines on Photoshop. I tried changing the colours to the unique Soft pink and teal green; however, it did not work and looked wrong against the rest of the image. The black and white stand out more against the model and really bring attention towards it.
  • 'Download...' section had to be changed. The font was all wrong, the position, the words, everything. The levelled it all out so it was on one line, not a paragraph. I got rid of 'Apple Music' As ITunes and Apple music are basically the same thing and it was unnecessary. I included the logos for these brand and placed them over the words just to add to the branding.
  • I changed the font of this section to a more block print type font, rather than 'hand typewriter'. It was too whimsical and I wanted something more simple and timeless.
  • The was a mark on the wall behind the model, just above the '10/12/17'. I copied the same colour of the wall and painted over this.
This is the finished product
